Kristien Devos and Gunther Schollaert took the initial initiative for this project. After having finished their studies of law and theology at the K.U.L., they left –for three years- for Picos where they were involved in different development projects. In their free time, they were living in the poor neighbourhood of the ‘Cato Vento’ and took the initiative to send one of the neigbours’ children, Antonio, to a private school.
At present Kristien has developed a career as Corporate Lawyer starting at Compex, later
Siemens, Zenitel and Enfinity.
Gunther is involved in palliative services at the public Hospital of Halle and is also
coordinating deocisanal services in public hospitals at a reginal levels.
